http://fotoristo.com/uggsclearance.htm On Sunday, China announced the flight of the first craft capable of carrying a person into space. The mission was headline news in China, where creating a national space program is often a matter of national pride."China deserves a place in the world in the area of technological difficulty," the official Xinhua news agency quoted the top of China's Manned Spaceflight Program as saying."The successful test flight implies that China's spacecraft and new carrier rocket are perfect in performance."The spacecraft is named Shenzhou --literally, God Ship . State television showed the spacecraft, borne aloft with a Long March rocket, blasted far from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre within the northwestern province of Gansu at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday (2230 GMT Friday).Xinhua said the return module touched down inside the northern Chinese province of Inner Mongolia at about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday (1930 GMT Saturday).State television broadcast simulated pictures in the return, showing the module descending by parachute and four braking rockets firing shortly before landing.Chinese state television claimed it was the 59th launch with the Long March rocket series and also the 17th consecutive successful launch previously three years.Xinhua said China would conduct more unmanned test flights before putting astronauts into space, but gave no timetable. Hong Kong's Beijing-backed Wen Wei Po newspaper said a manned launch was "just nearby."Aviation journal Flight International said the craft was looked as based on the Russian Soyuz, but with two pairs of solar panel systems to generate on-board power and a cylindrical forward module rather than Soyuz's spherical one. It is thought to have a mass of 8.4 tons and can accommodate up to four astronauts.Experiments were conducted in the flight on space remote sensing, environmental monitoring, space materials, astronomy and physics.A fresh land and sea-based space monitoring and control network was produced for the launch, which was the 59th of your Long March rocket and followed a few technical failures in recent years for that Long March program. The dome-shaped ship was in space for 21 hours and orbited the planet earth 14 times, making China only the third nation to launch a real vehicle--after the Soviet Union and the Usa.Beijing has been looking for ways to boost national morale amid slowing economic growth and rising unemployment. Membership from the exclusive space club comes 42 years following the former Soviet Union founded it by launching the satellite Sputnik-1.Chinese newspapers didn't hit the streets until midday on Sunday, apparently delayed before the successful return of the spacecraft. A photo of the launch and calligraphy by Jiang reading Shenzhou covered top page of the People's Daily .China launched its first rocket in 1959, 12 months after Mao Zedong declared China would develop atomibombs, missiles and satellites. The continent has been secretly developing a manned space flight program since 1992.
pink ugg boots A lot of teen parties are "awash with alcohol and drugs," though their parents are not appearing to know it, according to a U.S. survey of teens and oldsters. The new report is based on market research of nearly 1,300 teens and 562 parents of teens. It had been done by telephone in March and April for that National Center on Addiction and Abusing drugs (CASA) at Columbia University, in The big apple. "One in three teen partygoers have been to parties where teens were alcohol consumption, smoking pot, or using cocaine, ecstasy, or prescription medications while a parent was present," CASA chairman and president Joseph A. Califano, Jr., says from the report."By age 17, up to 50 % (46 percent) of teens have already been at such parties where parents were present," adds Califano, an ancient U.S. Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare. The fogeys may not approve of or even know of the parties, the survey also shows. Parents In Denial? "The message is loud and clear: Parents, awaken and smell the beer and pot!" states Califano. "If your teen is having a party at your home, you shouldn't only be there, but also know about what is going on," he continues. "And if the teen attends a party at somebody else's home, you should confirm that the oldsters will be present and that alcohol and medicines will not.""The reality is that even though parents are present at a party, some kids attempt to sneak in substances," Califano notes."Too many parents fail to fulfill their responsibility to chaperone their teens' parties, have no clue how drug- and alcohol-infested their teens' world is, and they are utterly unrealistic about their own conduct when it comes to their children," he says."The insufficient involvement, denial and self-delusion of these parental palookas puts their teens at enormous chance of drinking and using illegal substances," says Califano. In regards to the Survey Nearly 600 boys contributing to 700 girls age 12-17 took part in. Most of the 562 parents had a teen using survey (84 percent). Survey topics included teen party attendance; utilization of alcohol, marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine, and medications at those parties; and parental presence with the party site. no previous page next 1/2
ugg boots online You cram for exams, you cram food inside your mouth and before you know it, you've place on 15 pounds, the dreaded "freshman 15." It is just a story CBS News correspondent Tracy Smith knows too well; she lived it and knows the way it goes.Ahhh, the wonders of the college dining hall: the pizza, the doughnuts, the French fries. It's a noshing nirvana, where, for the first time in many kids' lives, they can eat whenever and whatever they want."The ice cream is so good!" says one female student. "My mom didn't permit me to eat junk food at home so having it this is a big change."A male student adds, "I ate plenty of mac and cheese and Gatorade."They aren't the only ones. Freshman Jackie Albert admits, "So far, it has been pizza for lunch and pizza for supper. That's not good!"Albert is worried that does not all her growth this semester will be academic. It's just scary to be with her to hear the words "freshman 15," she says. What undergoes her head is "that I am going to look in the mirror and i am gonna be twice the size i was before. That's the scariest thought." Nutritionist Ann Litt counsels teens about their diets. She says, "There are a couple of main reasons that kids tend to put on weight. The first is that they're away from home. For several kids, food is very comforting and it is one thing that's familiar, therefore i think a lot of kids eat at restaurants of boredom, out of loneliness."Albert notes, "It is absolutely hard because there's, like, all of this food that you want to eat, but you really can't."There are, however, healthy choices, too. But Albert says, "I'm not sure which ones they are except for the salad bar. I need some help." So Litt offered some tips to help Albert navigate the fast-food-filled waters of campus life.No. 1: ExerciseSays Litt, "There's no excuse anymore. The gyms that they're building at school campuses for their students are simply incredible and it's kind of a social thing."No.2: Explore The options Today's college cafeteria offers far more than just junk.Pat Higgins, director of dining services on the University of Maryland, says, "You will get baked fish and baked chicken. You will find a Lite Line in our dinig room. If you are a vegetarian or vegan, you will find a vegetarian line. We have salads with low calorie dressings, and sandwiches are produced on wheat bread, rye bread, whole grain bread with light mayonnaise. Therefore it is what you choose."No. 3: Eat Regular Meals in Moderate PortionsLitt explains, "You will not want the servings to get out of hand, but that is where a lot of kids be in trouble because if it is all you can eat, you're just going to sit here and pile it. Just remember: it is not all you have to eat, to make sure you should eat." Follow those rules and you may even have pizza, at least every once in a while. One of the other things that packs about the pounds in college is, naturally, drinking. Not only is alcohol high-calorie, but drinking leades to bad diet, too.
michaelkors.com The recent historic Korean summit may signal how the first shooting conflict with the Cold War is finally nearing a finish. This Sunday is the 50th anniversary from the start of the Korean War, in which 1.8 million Americans served, most of them now forgotten heroes. It was called a conflict. It was known as a police action. But make no mistake about it, Korea was a war.CBS Evening News Anchor Dan Rather talked with one veteran who lived to tell many tales of combat in a hard, cold land. Author James Brady, a Korean War veteran says, "Korea was on and off in 37 months, just over three years and almost as many guys died in Korea in that time as were killed in the decade plus of Vietnam."It was a brutal war, fought mostly by ground troops in sub-zero cold in the winter months, tropical swelter in summer.Almost 37,000 thousand Americans died in the United Nations mission to defend South Korea after it was invaded by troops from your communist North. Brady was a marine rifle platoon leader in Korea. He's written two books about his experiences.Brady says, "The United States almost lost the Korean War twice within the first year."The North Koreans were backed by two communist giants: the Soviet Union and China. The Cold War suddenly became hot.Brady says, "The great powers of the world, Russia and America, were banging heads when this occurs and suddenly a forest fire started within this little country and that we went over and we use it out, and therefore World War Three never happened."The fighting stopped whenever a truce was signed in July, 1953. The Korean War veterans came home quietly.Brady says, "We did not have parades but neither were we spit at as happened with Vietnam."But the conflict hasn't officially ended, and 37,000 U.S. troops still stand guard on the border of the two Koreas. Last week, clearly there was a glimmer of wish for a lasting peace, when the leaders of North and South Korea met for a first-ever summit.Brady says: "It's time that a fifty-year-old truce become a real peace. I’d want to see it happen but I’m slightly skeptical."
muvdigital.net An infection and breathing difficulty can be a dangerous combination for a man in the 80s with Parkinson's disease — Pope John Paul II's main underlying disease, doctors say.All of these conditions make one another worse. But the pontiff's current woes don't indicate he faces a volitile manner of steadily worsening health, although they do make it very tough for him to extract.A Vatican spokesman said the pope have been hospitalized because he had the flu and developed throat spasms that got difficult for him to breathe — an ailment not unlike what many children undergo with croup."I would expect it to solve over time," said Dr. Jaimie Henderson, a Parkinson's expert at Stanford University Med school. But he added, "Parkinson's is a progressive disease. People usually die off their complications," and infections have reached the top of the list."His underlying medical ailments really do put him with the highest risk for developing complications of all. We know that Parkinson's disease brings about complications, including difficulty swallowing or eating," said CBS News Early Show medical correspondent Dr. Emily Senay. " …muscle rigidity, the inability to move muscles in a way that you wish to and obviously, balance problems, tremors. They are all side effects of the muscle problem which will come from Parkinson's disease, which is a brain disease that affects the entire body and your capability to move your muscles in the way you want to.""There must be a suspicion that he's created complicating pneumonia," said Dr. William Schaffner, an infectious diseases expert at Vanderbilt University. That you will find an "ominous" sign for his health, Schaffner said. The Vatican statement doesn't say whether or not the pontiff's illness was confirmed as flu, or whether he had had a flu shot or pneumonia vaccine, which prevents essentially the most fatal complication of flu.The Vatican said within an earlier statement that the pope experienced "an acute laryngeal tracheitis and larynx spasm crisis."Tracheitis, a degeneration of the trachea, requires hospitalization and in most cases a breathing tube to maintain the airway clear. The throat spasms are usually a complication from the respiratory illness he's got had. It's possible his Parkinson's disease has produced his condition more serious with his fantastic breathing more labored."A normal person might get some tightness or constriction inside the throat," but would not suffer spasms, Henderson said."His breathing might not be as full because of the Parkinson's. Tummy wall doesn't move as well," said Dr. Gary Leo of the Regional Parkinson's Center at Aurora-Sinai Infirmary in Milwaukee, Wis. "It may complicate his recovery."
