They've been married 53 long years.You'd think after 53 years there would not be anything left to fight about. But Vernon Hagen says with a laugh that if you do, it is likely you haven't been married.And so they argue: He states: "We ate beef last night!" She says: "We had soup last night."Their fights are usually frivolous. But what exactly is significant is that all too often, Vernon Hagen loses. "Well he's so proud, you know. He pretends he's just as robust as he can be. But he isn't anymore," says his wife.Vernon Hagen would have been a very bright young man. She got two master's degrees, worked as a science teacher, school superintendent and finally a museum educator. Today it's scary those things he still remembers.Because he looks through his window he admits that, "That's 6,116 feet to the top of these," pointing at a mountain. But even scarier are the things he doesn't remember. When asked the number of kids he had, his mind finds it hard to recall. "It hurts a good deal, and you don't know what to say to him. I don't know what to say to him anymore, says his wife.Florence Hagen says she started noticing adjustments to her husband about three years ago. And when it started getting worse this season, it gave her cause of concern. She began prodding her husband to determine a doctor. But he has to date refused for his own justification."Well, to admit that one is forgetful is deflating," notes Vernon Hagen.And doctors say that's why so many seniors ignore the symptoms or hide them giggles.There's when he brings his wife some bread, and she has to remind him she wanted a smaller loaf. While he just laughs at his mistake, she just finds herself talking to him like a child.Vernon Hagen insisted it turned out just old age. And yet deep down he must have doubted it. Because the day after Hartman left with his crew, he called that doctor who immediately put him on some medicine often utilized to treat Alzheimer's.For Florence Hagen it was a relief to finally win her most important fight ever. I think they're more into disbelief. Between tears and disbelief. Heading back and forth."What kind of boy was he?"They loved him," says Marxhausen. "And they thought he was, since the father said, just about a end product, ready to go off to college next season."In hindsight, after the tragedy, the Klebolds are pondering if there were signs they missed."The father, who thought he a soul mate in his son, the Friday before felt ?… stress in their son," says the pastor. "He designed a mental note and said, 'I really need to get back to my son with this.' And then the mother said, the morning of the shooting, she felt a fatalistic tone, and did not know where this came from, whilst said goodbye. And that's all they may remember."And, perhaps the most difficult question of all, are Dylan Klebold's parents feeling responsible for the tragedy?"Not yet," says their pastor. "They know by using an intellectual level their son did this. Nonetheless they can't yet own it inside themselves."At Sunday's memorial, Bowers asked some mourners if they thought the parents were partly the culprit. Here are some of the responses:"Where have they been been the last, who knows, a long period, probably?""I'm open-minded. My heart is ready to accept them. As a parent, my kids are young. However i wonder how you could go through the like and there be absolutely no symptoms that there are problems."Many feel there probably were signs that Klebold's and Harris' families did miss:"I think there exists responsibility that needs to be taken through the parents. I guess I would expect precisely the same from the community, if I were parents, that I should shoulder many of the blame also.""They're parents. I'm certain they're grieving. But, as well, I can't help but believe they should be a little accountable for this."If there is a lesson to be learned from this tragedy, parents in Littleton voice it out is that we all need to pay more attention to children."You ave to know what your kids are performing. You have to know what they're watching, and take an interest in them, whether they like it or otherwise not, because at times like this, they do know it was love."

The issue is getting the pumps turned on when nearly half of southern Florida remains to be without electricity.Adrian Palma runs a Shell station.
